Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is a prominent Iranian politician and former military officer who has served as the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majles) since 2020. He has no particular role or significance in Iceland. Ghalibaf is a conservative, establishment politician known for his pragmatic management style and has a long history in public service, including as mayor of Tehran and commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He has run for president four times.
