Hallgrímur Helgason is a prominent Icelandic painter, novelist, translator, and columnist, born in Reykjavík in 1959. He initially pursued a career as an artist, exhibiting his work internationally, before gaining significant recognition as a writer. Helgason is known for his novels such as "101 Reykjavík," which was adapted into a film, and "The Author of Iceland," which won the Icelandic Literary Prize in 2001. He has received the Icelandic Literary Prize multiple times for his works, including "Sixty Kilos of Sunshine" and "Sixty Kilos of Knockouts."
