Mosfellsbær is a town and municipality located in southwest Iceland, approximately 12 kilometers (7 miles) east of the capital, Reykjavík. Often referred to as "the green town" due to its lush surroundings and numerous greenhouses, it is known for its natural beauty, outdoor recreational opportunities, and cultural significance. Mosfellsbær was home to Nobel Prize-winning author Halldór Laxness, whose former residence is now a museum, and has historical connections to the Icelandic wool industry.
