Truth Social is an American alt-tech social media platform launched in February 2022, owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which is majority-owned by Donald Trump. It was created as a "free-speech" alternative to mainstream platforms after Trump was banned from major social networks. While not specifically focused on Iceland, the platform has been used by Donald Trump to make statements that have impacted discussions related to Iceland, particularly during a 2026 Davos speech where he repeatedly confused Greenland with Iceland while discussing his desire to acquire Greenland.
