Rhein-Neckar Löwen is a professional handball club based in Mannheim, Germany, founded in 2002. The club competes in the German Handball-Bundesliga and the EHF European League. Several Icelandic handball players have played for Rhein-Neckar Löwen, including Haukur Þrastarson, who was the top assist provider for the team in an away game against ThSV Eisenach in the 25th round of the German league. Other notable Icelandic players who have been part of the team include Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson and Einar Þorsteinn Ólafsson.
