Vestmannaeyjabær is the main town and municipality located on Heimaey, the largest island in the Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands) archipelago off the south coast of Iceland. It is a significant fishing center and is known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, rich wildlife including the world's largest puffin colony, and its resilience after the 1973 Eldfell volcanic eruption.
